The Founding 50: $40 a Month for a Year — and a Say in What We Build Next
·~10 min read
QuantRidge costs $175 a month. For the next 50 people, it costs $40 — for a full year — and the reason is not generosity. It is that a wealth platform is only as good as the number of real portfolios that have been run through it, and we would rather buy that feedback than a billboard. Here is the offer, the exact terms including what happens in month 13, what we are asking of you in return, and who should walk away from it.
The offer, in one paragraph
The next 50 people to open an individual QuantRidge account pay $40 a month for 12 months instead of the $175 list price — 77% off — and then the subscription renews at $175. There is still a 14-day free trial before any charge, and you can cancel at any time. In return we are asking you to actually use the thing on your real portfolio and tell us, bluntly, what is missing, what is wrong, and what you would need before you would pay full price for it.
That is the whole thing. The rest of this post is the detail you would want before handing a new company your brokerage data — the reason the offer exists, the exact terms, and an honest description of who should not take it.
Why 50 seats, and why not free
A wealth platform cannot be finished in a vacuum. Portfolio analytics, cost-basis tracking, and retirement modeling all behave beautifully against clean test data and then meet a real account: a 2009 transfer with no basis attached, a spin-off nobody accounted for, a 401(k) that reports in units instead of shares, an inherited IRA with a step-up the software has to know about. Every one of those is a bug we only find because somebody ran their own mess through it.
So we need a cohort of real portfolios. 50 is the number we can genuinely keep up with — small enough that we read and answer every message personally, large enough to cover the account types that break things.
The obvious question is why it is not free. Two reasons, both learned the hard way by everyone who has done this. Free testers do not connect real accounts, because the thing people hesitate to hand over is not money, it is their financial life — and a price signals that we intend to still be here in a year to look after it. And free feedback is polite. Paid feedback is honest. People who have paid $40 tell you the import is confusing; people who paid nothing tell you it looks great.
$40 is low enough that it is not a procurement decision and high enough that you will expect something for it. That is the entire design.
What $40 a month actually buys
Not a stripped-down beta tier. A founding seat is the full individual plan — all 155 capabilities, the same ones a $175 account gets:
- Every account in one view — read-only brokerage links or CSV import, performance attribution, benchmark-relative returns, allocation drift, concentration alerts, and a rebalancing view that shows the tax consequence before you trade.
- Tax strategy year-round — tax-lot tracking across linked accounts, harvestable-loss candidates, wash-sale warnings before the repurchase rather than after, Roth conversion modeling against bracket thresholds, and CPA-ready exports.
- Retirement and withdrawal modeling — Monte Carlo probability of success, sequence-of-returns stress testing, withdrawal sequencing coordinated with tax brackets, Social Security timing, and RMD projection.
- Estate, legacy and documents — a beneficiary registry that flags the stale designation from three jobs ago, trust and policy inventories, and an encrypted vault for the documents your family will actually need.
- Four AI research agents — Analyst, Research, Filing, and Tax & Risk, plus a Research Engine for long-form deep dives, with the reasoning shown and citations back to the filing.
Founding members also get the part we cannot put in a feature list: a direct line to the people building it. Not a ticket queue — the actual team, and a roadmap you can push on.
What we are asking from you in return
"Send us any feedback" reliably produces nothing. So here is the actual brief. If you do three of these five in your first month, you have more than held up your end:
Connect your real accounts
Not a demo portfolio — the actual tangle. Multiple brokerages, an old employer 401(k), a HSA nobody remembers the login for, a joint account, a trust. Import friction is where most platforms quietly fail, and we want to see it fail on your accounts before it fails on somebody else's.
Check the tax lots against your 1099
Pull up cost basis, wash-sale flags, and harvestable losses, then hold them next to what your broker reports. If a number disagrees, that is the single most valuable message you can send us. Tax math that is subtly wrong is worse than tax math that is absent.
Run your retirement plan twice
Once the way you actually expect it to go, once the pessimistic way. Tell us where the model asked for something you do not know, assumed something you would not have assumed, or produced a number you do not believe.
Push the AI agents until they are wrong
Ask the Analyst, Research, Filing, and Tax & Risk agents about the holdings you know best. You will catch a weak answer faster than we will, because you already know the right one. Send us the prompt and what it should have said.
Tell us what is missing
The feature whose absence would stop you renewing at list price. The integration that would make the decision for you. The report your CPA asks for every March. This is the list the roadmap is built from.
To be explicit, because offers like this often hide a condition: none of this is required to keep your price. The $40 rate holds for the full 12 months whether you write to us weekly or never. We are asking because the cohort is pointless otherwise, not because we will bill you for silence.
How your feedback reaches the roadmap
Three routes in, and all three land with the same small team:
- The feature-request form at the bottom of the Ask QuantRidge page, which is the fastest way to file something specific.
- support@quantridge.net for anything that needs a screenshot, an export, or a conversation.
- The contact form, if you would rather we call you.
What we will not do is pretend every request becomes a feature. Some conflict with each other, some conflict with staying out of regulated advice, and some are simply further down than you would like. What we will do is answer — including when the answer is no, and why.
The math, including month 13
A founding year costs $480. The same 12 months at list price would be $2,100, so the seat is worth $1,620 over the year. For scale, an advisor charging the traditional 1% of assets under management bills $5,000 a year on a $500,000 portfolio, and more every year the portfolio grows.
| Period | Founding seat | List price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per month, months 1–12 | $40 | $175 | $135 |
| First 12 months | $480 | $2,100 | $1,620 |
| Month 13 onward | $175 | $175 | — |
That last row is the one most promotional pages leave off, so it is in the table rather than a footnote. Month 13 is $175. If you want the full flat-fee versus percentage-fee argument, it is worked through in the true cost of a 1% AUM fee, and you can run your own numbers in the advisor fee comparison calculator.
The terms, stated plainly
- $40 per month for 12 months, starting from your first paid month. The 14-day free trial comes first and is not counted against it.
- Then $175 per month. The price steps up at renewal. We disclose the post-promotional rate and the renewal date at checkout before you are charged anything, and we email you ahead of the change.
- Not a lifetime rate. We used to describe founding pricing as holding for as long as you stayed subscribed. It does not, and no page on this site says so any more. It is a 12-month promotional term.
- Cancel any time, from the billing portal inside your account. No call, no retention script. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged.
- 50 individual seats, open until filled or withdrawn. There is a separate founding offer for advisory firms on the pricing page.
- Read-only account access. QuantRidge can see positions and transactions. It cannot trade, move money, or initiate transfers.
The binding version of all of this lives in our legal disclosures and terms; the Promotional Rates clause is the one that covers the step-up.
Who should skip this
We would rather lose a signup than collect a refund request, so: this is not for everybody.
- If you want someone to manage your money, skip it. QuantRidge is software. It is not a Registered Investment Adviser and gives no personalized investment advice. A good human advisor does things this does not.
- If you want a finished product, wait. A founding cohort exists because the product is still moving. You will meet rough edges. That is the deal, and reporting them is the point.
- If you only want the discount, take the trial instead. 14 days free, no card drama, and nobody will chase you for feedback.
- If you are an advisory firm, the individual plan is the wrong shape — you want the business founding offer with multi-client workspaces and an audit trail. See the RIA and advisor page.
How to claim a seat
Start the 14-day trial on the founding plan — no sales call, no demo booking, no form that routes to a salesperson:
- Open the founding signup and create your account.
- Link a brokerage read-only, or import a CSV. Start with the messiest account you have, not the tidiest — that is the useful test.
- Work through the five targets above during the trial. If something is wrong before your first charge, we would much rather hear it then.
If you want to interrogate the platform before giving it anything, Ask QuantRidge answers questions about what it does from our own product documentation, with no signup first.
Questions we expect
What is the QuantRidge Founding 50?
It is a limited cohort of 50 individual accounts who pay $40 per month instead of the $175 list price for their first 12 months, in exchange for actively testing QuantRidge and sending us feedback on what to add or change. After 12 months the subscription renews at the $175 list price. It is not a lifetime rate.
What happens after the 12 months are up?
Your subscription renews at the standard $175 per month unless you cancel first. We disclose the new price and the renewal date at checkout and email you before the step-up happens, so nothing arrives as a surprise. You can cancel at any point from the billing portal in your account.
Do I have to give feedback to keep the price?
No. The $40 rate is not conditional and we will not revoke it if you go quiet. We are asking, not billing for it. But the whole point of the cohort is the feedback, so if you have no intention of testing anything, the trial is a better fit than a founding seat.
Is there still a free trial?
Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial before any charge, founding seats included. If you cancel inside the trial you are not billed at all.
Is my brokerage connection read-only?
Yes. QuantRidge connects to brokerages in read-only mode. It can see positions and transactions; it cannot place trades or move money, and there is no trading authority to misuse. You can also import by CSV and connect nothing at all.
Is QuantRidge a financial advisor?
No. QuantRidge is software, not a Registered Investment Adviser, broker, custodian, tax preparer, or law firm. It does not give personalized investment advice. Everything it produces is informational, and decisions specific to your situation belong with your own CPA, attorney, or adviser.
How many of the 50 seats are left?
We do not publish a live counter, because a fake one is worse than none. The offer is open until the 50 seats are filled or we withdraw it, and the pricing page stops showing the founding rate when it closes.
Anything we have not covered goes to support@quantridge.net, and a person answers it.
